Rev’d. Terry Shields Dirbas, new WANM Board Member

On the evening of Monday, January 10, 2022, there was a Celebration of a New Ministry at the Parish of St. John’s Shaughessy. At this service, the Reverend Terry Shields Dirbas was inducted as rector of the parish by the Right Reverend John Stephens, Bishop of New Westminster.

As the Rector of St. John’s Shaughnessy, Rev’d. Shield Dirbas joins the Board of Management of the Westside Anglicans Neighbourhood Ministry (WANM). 

The Reverend Terry Shields Dirbas grew up in the southeastern United States. Mother Terry holds a BA in Religion from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina; an M.Div. from General Theological Seminary in New York City; and she is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree through Virginia Theological Seminary. 

Ordained to the priesthood in San Diego, California, in 2010, Terry’s first call was as Associate Rector and Chaplain to the Day School at Christ Church, Coronado. Later, she served as Associate Rector at All Souls’, Point Loma.

In addition to parish work, she has also served on the board of directors of the nonprofit Episcopal Community Services and chaired the Commission on Ministry of the diocese of San Diego.
