The Neighbourhood Ministry is a homeless outreach ministry on Vancouver’s Westside offered by the Anglican Diocese of New Westminster since 2007 through the parishes of St. Anselm’s, St. Helen’s, St. John’s Shaughnessy and St. Philip’s.

The parishes who founded and fund the Neighbourhood Ministry’s work have built a strong core of volunteers and support within the churches and beyond.  An estimated 40-50 volunteers regularly devote time to this cause.

The Neighbourhood Ministry offers care, companionship and practical help to our most vulnerable neighbours living on the Westside streets and in vulnerable conditions through three key ministries:  Street Outreach, Service at Coast Dunbar apartments, and the Mobile Care Unit.

Our volunteers have formed trusting relationships with our disadvantaged neighbours and strong partnerships throughout the community, and in doing so have seen success in bringing housing, income assistance, medical services, tax services, hope and friendship to people who face barriers to accessing these basic necessities.
